Can you tell when too much chocolate is too much? Certainly for this recipe chocolate is never too much 🍫
The easiest chocolate cake batter, done in only one bowl. It took me time more to measure the ingredients 😊

Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache

Chocolate cake
250 g all purpose flour
300 g sugar
50 g cocoa powder
3 medium eggs, lightly beaten
100 gr melted butter
250 ml buttermilk
200 ml hot coffee
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Chocolate ganache
200 g milk chocolate, chopped
200 ml whipping cream
20 g unsalted butter

Salted peanut and chocolate candies, for garnish

Preheat the oven to 190 C. Prepare your sheet pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl add and mix all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cacao powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
Add eggs, buttermilk, butter and coffee and whisk together until a smooth cake batter is formed. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake in the oven for about 30 – 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool completely.

Place the chocolate and butter into a medium bowl. Put the cream into a small pan and bring to a simmer. Pour the cream over the chocolate and set aside for 3 minutes before stirring together to form a smooth ganache.
Put the bowl in the fridge for about 2 hours or until thickened.
Remove the ganache from the fridge and use a hand mixer to whisk until pale and fluffy. This only takes a few minutes. Spread the ganache over the cake and sprinkle with salted peanuts and chocolate candies.
