For some time, when I wanna eat a burger I prepare the burger buns at home.
It is a very simple recipe and you have the guaranty of a healthy choice ✨
400 g all purpose flour
200 g warm water
7 g dry yeast
40 g butter
1 egg
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
For black buns
1 tbsp squid ink
Topping
1 egg, beaten
seeds of your choice
Mix and knead all of the dough ingredients by hand or mixer until you have a soft, smooth dough.
Cover the dough and let it stand in a warm place until the dough has doubled in size, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Gently deflate the dough and divide it in half. Mix one half with squid ink until very well incorporated.
Divide each half into 3 or 4 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball shape.
Place the buns on a parchment-lined baking tray, leaving plenty of space between them. Cover and let rise for about an hour. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Using your hands press the buns down gently and brush them with beaten egg and sprinkle with your seeds.
Bake until golden brown, about 15-18 minutes.
